INFLUENZA OUTBREAK AT CHERRYBROOK CHRISTIAN CARE CENTRE
NSW currently has strains of both Influenza A and B in circulation with many hospitals and over 50 aged care facilities reporting outbreaks in recent weeks.
Unfortunately since Sunday 6th August 2017 we have had confirmed cases of influenza from resident and staff at CCCC. In order to prevent further outbreak of the condition, we have commenced quarantine procedures and have isolated all affected areas and limited communal activities.
Until the influenza outbreak is deemed over by NSW Health, ALL COMMUNITY GATHERINGS AND ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED for Cherrybrook Christian Care Centre.
If visiting the facility, all visitors are required to comply with appropriate infection control precautions including good hand washing. Symptomatic residents will be isolated and symptomatic visitors excluded until symptoms have resolved.
NO CHILDREN ARE TO VISIT THE FACILITY
The Facility Manager will provide regular updates to the affected resident’s nominated person responsible for care during the outbreak via email or phone. Please follow this space for daily updates if you have any concerns regarding the situation at Cherrybrook Christian Care Centre.
All concerns or enquiries regarding this matter should be directed to the General Manager, Martin Watkins, on 02 9842 4111.
