Groves House Nursing Home is located next to our Lyndon Grove retirement living village in Cardiff Heights near Newcastle. Since opening over a decade ago, Groves House has become a well-respected part of the local community and is home to a friendly group of 60 residents. There is a welcoming foyer, extensive seating spaces and a small coffee place for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Person-centred care is at the forefront of this home’s design with private ensuite bathrooms, care within dedicated groups, dementia-friendly spaces and palliative care. The wings are designed to minimise the travel distance between residents’ rooms and common areas.
Groves House has a dedicated lifestyle team to provide regular activities for residents. We are focused on person centred care, giving residents a choice in how they spend their day from meals to activities, outings and more.

The team at Groves offer residents a full range of residential aged care/nursing home services and more, including:
- 24/7 personal care from qualified nursing staff
- 24/7 registered nurse on duty

Accommodation
Groves’s facility has been designed with the latest innovative systems and environmentally friendly features. The high ceilings, air-conditioned areas and beautiful balconies create a peaceful living space for our residents to enjoy.
We have dining rooms in each of our three areas, activity and television rooms, a chapel, beautician and hair salon, library and outdoor areas. All bedrooms are equipped with ensuite facilities, electric beds and built in wardrobes and our suites look out to private and leafy courtyards or local views. The rooms and common areas are light filled, with an abundance of fresh air.
The Groves lifestyle is ideal for those who require support with daily living, but still like their own space.
Fees
We understand that relocating to a residential aged care facility can be hard decision, so it is important to understand the costs and fees associated with care. So that you and your family can choose the aged care facility, accommodation and payment options that best meet your needs we have outlined the two fees payable in detail below.
These are the Daily Resident Fees and the Accommodation Payment.
Daily Resident Fees are applicable from date of entry and are charged on a daily basis.
These are:
- Basic Daily Fee (which is mandatory) and covers day to day living costs
- Means Tested Care Fee (Government assessable)
In addition to Resident Fees, residents with sufficient assets and income will be asked to pay either a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) or an Accommodation Charge (AC) depending on the outcome of your Asset and Income assessment. A combination option is also available.
