Aged Care Services and the Things You Ought to Know About It

For most people, growing older means there are times you find it difficult to manage day-to-day living activities. You may need help, or you may be caring for a family member or a friend who needs help, but you just don’t know where to start or what help you can get.

CBCS have a variety of aged care services to support you.

Residential aged care is for older people who for a variety of reasons can no longer live at home. Those reasons can include illness, disability, bereavement, an emergency, the changing needs of their carer, family or friends, or because it is no longer possible to manage at home without help.
Australia’s aged care system aims to ensure that all older people receive support and quality care when they need it.

Living or staying in an aged care home is all about making sure that you receive the care that you need, whether you just need help with day to day tasks, assistance with personal care, or 24hour nursing care.

Aged care homes are owned and operated by people or organisations that have the approval of the Australian Government to care for you.

Residential aged care can be offered as either permanent or short-term care. Short-term care in an aged care home is called residential respite care.

After-hospital care (transition care)

If you have been in hospital and are ready to be discharged, but you still need more time and support or help to get back on your feet before you decide about the best place for you to live in the longer term, then you may benefit from transition care.

Transition care focuses on your individual goals and therapies with the aim of helping you to return to your usual state of independence.

Respite Care

If you are being looked after by a family member or friend, and need a break from your usual care arrangement, we can help you or your carer to take a break with short stays in one of our Residential Aged Care facilities of up to 63 days of Respite Care per year.
